VP/Director of Finance

Compensation: $85,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year

Corporate office The Director of Finance is responsible for assisting in the overall management of the financial department activities of the Agency and manages the Finance Department in the absence of the Vice President for Finance. Ensures the smooth operation of the office by providing supervision to all staff assigned; completing 100% assessments of performance timely, communicating effectively with staff by conducting meetings at regular intervals, keeping them informed of plans, progress, and changes in the department and Agency, and delegating responsibilities and duties to appropriate personnel. Ensures turnover rate is at or below rate established for calendar year. Manages the Finance Department in the absence of the Vice President for Finance. Assists the Vice President for Finance with development of an annual strategic plan for the finance and systems divisions of the Agency. This plan should parallel the mission goals and objectives of the Agency. In addition, it should include specific objectives with target dates for completion. The strategic plan will be used to develop a meaningful and cost conscious budget. Assists with the preparation of an annual budget for the Agency. Plans for preparing the budget will be reviewed with the Vice President for Finance. Reviews the organization of all departments supervised for efficiency, supervision and span of control. Develops, reviews and revises policies and procedures. Coordinates financial and systems activities with other departments of the Agency. Writes and reviews job descriptions. Hires, counsels, teaches, disciplines and terminates employees within the financial division of the Agency. Designs reports and a system of controls, which help control costs, labor utilization/ productivity and the quality of services in the departments supervised. Prepares or is responsible for the preparation of the financial statements, comparison budget to actual, cash flow, changes in financial position, cost reports and other reports as determined by the Vice President for Finance. Makes interpretations and forecasts about financial liability, cash flow and other financial indicators. Meets with the Vice President for Finance to review current activities, problem solving, attainment of goals and review of reports, etc. Attends and participates in workshops, seminars, etc., to keep abreast of current changes in the home health care field. Strives continually to improve knowledge through individual research and reading. Maintains an awareness of the total operation of the Agency in order to stay abreast of applicable policies and procedures. Assures that effective communications are maintained within areas of responsibility. Where appropriate, informs an employee as to plans and progress. Conducts employee discussion sessions at regular and frequent intervals. Monitors the morale of staff and takes action where necessary to reduce turnover, absenteeism, and employee dissatisfaction. Adheres to the Agency's personnel policies and Compliance Plan. Willingly performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Displays a high degree of courtesy, tact, and knowledge of services provided by the agency in all contact with staff, patients, and visitors.
