Systems Engineer – Windows Server & Active Directory Engineer

To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by architecting and implementing best practice IT Systems infrastructure solutions that support the delivery of highly reliable, customer-centric, enterprise-level services.   The Systems Engineer, Enterprise IT Infrastructure Services, is responsible for the design, administration, maintenance, and management of Systems resources including but not limited to servers, storage, and associated software as well as email, print, directory, and other services.  This individual diagnoses and corrects issues and defines and implements new services with the goal of achieving maximum uptime and availability for customers.  This individual also contributes to long term plans and roadmaps including but not limited to the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP), Technical Infrastructure Plan (TIP), and Operations Manual, ensuring they are updated regularly. The Systems Engineer, Enterprise IT Infrastructure Services, adheres to key performance measures for their areas of responsibility.  Span of responsibility includes the following areas\: Data Center, Servers and Storage, Desktop Imaging, Systems Equipment and Applications, Email, File, Print, Directory, and other Services   Primary Accountabilities Identify cost reduction opportunities.  Drive operational efficiencies that improve profitability and customer satisfaction. Provide technical recommendations on the selection of Systems related enterprise infrastructure. Participate in a best-practice infrastructure program to protect HF information assets, ensuring appropriate information security measures are in place; coordinate and collaborate with the Enterprise IT Security team.   Comply with all Federal and State regulatory requirements. Provide technical guidance for projects in the Health First Systems infrastructure project portfolio; set appropriate enterprise expectations, manage risks and ensure organization achieves anticipated value; ensure infrastructure initiatives are tied to strategic initiatives and key focus areas of the organization.  Follow HF strategic IT principles and policy guidelines in the selection of technology solutions. Monitor and maintain Systems stability. Effectively oversee installation and maintenance of Systems hardware and software assets, within a framework of industry standards, ITIL best practices and HF strategic IT principles and policy guidelines. Develop and maintain existing management systems and performance measurement dashboards to transparently track and report on key performance indicators. Continuously identify and recommend opportunities to leverage technology to improve the patient/member experience. Strive to assume additional responsibility and successfully advance career within the organization. 

Qualification:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or business relevant field required. A minimum of four years’ experience in IT Systems infrastructure technology. Up-to-date knowledge of technology marketplace. Professional certification in infrastructure related fields (MCITP\: EA, MSCA, MCSE, etc.) or other industry recognized infrastructure credential is preferred. Excellent Active Directory skills required including, Group Policy, Policy Preferences, Sites and Services, AD integrated DNS, etc. LANDesk Management suite experience desirable. Experience in VMware 5.x environments required, VCP desired. Experience in managing change in a fast paced, complex environment. Knowledge of ITIL best practice service management and Lean preferred. People skills.  Good understanding of customer service operations, and “service-first” philosophies. Highly articulate and able to convey important messages in a clear and compelling manner.  Establishes trust and credibility at all levels of the organization; cultivates relationships with peers and associates; comfortable working in a matrix model. Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity; very adaptive to changing situations. Shows wisdom in making decisions and acts under pressure in times of crisis with a view to what is most appropriate, reasonable, timely and realistic. Applies logic and sound reasoning to determine the facts and reveal root causes. High integrity and compatibility with Health First I-CARE Values.
