Sr. Release Engineer

Compensation: $100,000.00 to $107,000.00 per year

Job Description: The Senior Release Engineer is a critical function within a software development organization, which is needed for managing and controlling software releases with incremental information, providing the ability to reproduce any release of the software at any given time. The SRE will report to the Build Manager and will work closely with Product and Project Management, Development, SQA engineers and Manufacturing/Customers providing configuration and release management support. The individual will be responsible for management and preservation of all formal releases of software and artifacts and for automating the software deployment and release process. Periodic training of staff members on using the release management system and procedures for release management best practices are also required. The SRE will be required to approve and inspect all release contents per Software Change Control Board (SCCB) approved software change requests and to validate all releases meet the requirements as scoped by product and project management. ? Maintain the change management system and configurations and release status accounting/auditing. ? Work with project management, development, SQA and other support groups to manage and track software. ? Identify and maintain the original configuration and requirements for software. ? Perform configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits as directed. ? Assist in the definition of the standards for the development, quality assurance, and production application environment. ? Troubleshoot problems in all environments possibly linked to configuration issues. ? Analyze statistical information relating to the effectiveness of services provided and make recommendations for improving service levels and existing procedures. ? Provide guidance and training for team members on release management technical strategies, implementations and procedures. ? Coordinate and control execution of other support group?s tasks during release activities. ? Participate in process and procedure post mortems to identify opportunities for improvement. ? Assist in the development of key performance indicators for Release and Configuration Management and help define what should be audited using best practice methodologies. ? Support the software change and SCCB processes. ? Define and document processes to support L+G software escrow obligations. ? Maintain and uphold customer contract agreements for SW escrow, create and deliver SW to escrow vault. ? Define and document processes to improve and maintain L+G manufacturing release process. ? Ensure software, required materials and products are available for production and delivery to customer. ? Supports and adheres to Company?s core values. ? Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required. ? Supports and adheres to Company?s Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy. ? Represents Company in a positive, detail oriented manner when working with both internal and external customers.

Job Requirements

Required Skills: ? Minimum of five (5) years Release or Software Configuration Management experience. ? Minimum of three (3) years in a development environment. ? Strong knowledge of the SW Development processes and best practices. ? Experience with MRP and BOM Systems, such as Arena, is a strong plus. Required Experience: Required Minimum Level of Education: Bachelors Degree Required Minimum Years of Experience: 5+ to 7
