Sr. Network Engineer

Job Description

Role: Network Engineer

Estimated Duration (in months): 12 months

Location: Dublin, OH


Description of Work:

What IT Network contributes to client IT Network is responsible for designing, implementing, operating and maintaining the client local and wide area networks and the client telephone systems, small and medium contact centers, and relationships with telecom service and maintenance vendors.


- Demonstrates thorough understanding of networking concepts and systems including Routing and Switching, WAN/LAN, Cisco & HP network devices, VOIP, WLANs.

- Demonstrates excellent problem solving skills and ability to make independent decisions.

- Oversees the purchase, installation, and support of network communications including LAN/WAN systems, T1, SIP, and VOIP systems.

- Monitors data/voice traffic and controls network/voice resource performance to ensure high quality transmission and call quality.

- Investigates and resolves security incidents and recommends enhancements to improve security.

- Applies comprehensive knowledge and thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities. - Investigates and resolves vendor incidents through maintenance contracts.

- Possesses knowledge of telecom technologies, hardware, software and telephony connectivity.

- Fixes all telecom issues at all Client sites.

- Runs reports on telecom health.

- Investigates and resolves vendor incidents through maintenance contracts.


Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent

- 6+ years' work experience in related field and a CCNA is required (Aruba wireless and CCNP certifications are desirable)


Senior Network Engineer Required Skills:

- IT Network build team is responsible for designing, implementing, operating and maintaining the client local and wide area networks and the client telephone systems, small and medium contact centers, and relationships with telecom service and maintenance vendors.


Job Requirements:

- Demonstrates thorough understanding of networking concepts and systems including Routing and Switching, WAN/LAN, SDWAN, Cisco & HP network devices, VOIP, WLANs.

- Expert/verifiable knowledge in the areas of Meraki routers, Cisco 4331 routers, Aruba wireless controllers/access points, Liebert UPS units, Palo Alto firewalls, Ekahau/Air Magnet wireless design/survey tools, NetMRI, SolarWinds, and Service Now.

- Demonstrates excellent problem solving skills and ability to make independent decisions.

- Oversees the purchase, installation, and support of network communications including LAN/WAN systems, T1, SIP, and VOIP systems.
