• Analyze TAKT time/line balance, work content, process, data needs/flow using appropriate engineering tools not limited to VSM, PMAP, DMAIC, PDCA, Fishbone and other manufacturing tools to describe the activities to improve the process, reduce waist, and reduce cycle time along with reducing scrap/rework. • Develop overall factory layouts and equipment workstation layouts to match analysis. • Develop workstation analysis, and implement new workstations. Ability to interface with Production, Facilities Maintenance, and other Support Groups as deemed necessary to develop, implement, and maintain workstations. • Develops factory equipment quote response by defining product and preferred manufacturing process. Develops equipment and fixture designs with designers and suppliers. Coordinates this activity between IE/Mfg./Equip. Engineers and suppliers. • Periodic workstation design/improvement due to installations / relocations while working with production and Facilities Maintenance to keep workstations, storage racks, and carts consistent with production needs • Develop work description including Work Instruction (WI), process analysis, and implement new workstation improvements. Ability to interface with Production, Facilities Maintenance, and other Support Groups as deemed necessary to develop, implement, and maintain WI and factory processes as required. • Create and analyze AutoCAD files and use Visio to formalize changes to scale drawings of 3-dimensional space and be able to visualize and accurate render scaled drawings. • Implementation plans including the actual physical design/improvement of workstations, racks, and carts to support production areas. • Manage the development and use of Material Handling associated with WIP such that the factory systems are working correctly and providing non-damaging transportation. Provide support for all factory systems for materials and scrap. • Develop equipment and techniques that allow for the automation of process tools and develop tools that assist in the mechanization or automation of manual processes. • Ability to effectively communicate and analyze data relating to bottleneck tools, cycle time constraints, WIP logistics, and capacity studies. Working with production, and supervisors/managers to identify bottlenecks while using engineering analysis to identify issues, providing verbal and documented reports to communicate with management using MS Office including Excel and other reporting tools. • Evaluate improvement requests from Production Leads, Engineering Technicians and Associates to implement productivity, cost savings, and efficiency of operation.

This position will require basic engineering education and aptitude and understanding/ training and education in the following areas: - Statistics, Operations Research, Engineering Econ, Factory Physics, Ergonomics, Factory Layout, Manufacturing, Industrial, and Mechanical Engineering - Lean Theory, 5S, TOC, JIT, and modern manufacturing techniques. - Fabrication techniques used to design and make electromechanical and pneumatic systems - Will supervise the daily function of IE/Mfg./Equip. engineers and needs to seek courses on professional management and motivation. - Lean and Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus.
