Sr. Desktop Technician

Job Description

Acara Solutions is seeking highly qualified candidates to work on-site of our customers in an end user support capacity providing exceptional customer service. Our Desktop Technicians will perform a variety of duties in support of end users for IT hardware and/or software break/fix support, however under this specific role they will be engaged to support end user WIN 10 Migrations. Under general supervision, this position may require collaboration with technical and managerial staff. Work methods and/or sequence of work is governed by oral/written instructions and established procedures.
The scope of work will be supporting a re-IP effort at the Moorestown campus that will involve working directly with the network and print team to configure printers.

Job Requirements

.Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • 3 years of experience in basic technical hardware repair, component level knowledge, operating system (Windows, Unix/Linux, Apple) and application knowledge, troubleshooting techniques
  • 3 years of experience in Setup and configuring PC’s (creating local accounts and acquire static IPs on customer’s Intranet and networks).
  • Physical capabilities to include lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • 3 years of IT customer support experience.
  • 1 year experience with working in or supporting a WIN 10 or WIN 7 migration.
  • Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Install and configure network devices (i.e. network printers, scanners, plotters, PCs, etc.). Troubleshoot problems with network printing and scanning devices. Perform data termination/ activation in telecommunication closets aka network connect (activation of data drops).
  • Repair and replace data connectors on network cables and data drops.
  • Assist in the relocation of customer employees on the facility (move PCs and activate data drops in new location).Troubleshoot network issues with PCs and LAN (duplex mismatches, duplicate IPs, corrupt firewall software, proxy configuration issues, etc.)
  • Assist with imaging of laptops and PCs for deployment.
