Senior Marketing Data Analyst

Our Fortune 500 Bay Area (San Ramon, CA) client is seeking a Senior Marketing Data Analyst to analyze global marketing and digital product data to close the loop between marketing programs, product features, and enhancements and attributed revenue. They are responsible for working with marketing analytics leadership to take existing performance reporting to the next level. The core duties are to enable the clients global business growth objectives through the analysis of Marketing, Public Relations and Digital Product data. Identify and recommend ways in which we can increase marketing lead generation, optimize marketing spend, improve digital usability, and create an overall, holistic analytics view of our digital platforms.

Specific responsibilities include:

- Supports initiatives focused on identifying research and reporting needs, conducting ad hoc research and reports, and setting up new automated reports as necessary.
- Researches complex issues and develop actionable recommendations that support Marketing leadership’s pursuit of strategic objectives.
- Partners closely with Marketing Analytics leadership to develop ad hoc research and analysis and reports on an as-needed basis.
- Client and candidate segmentation analysis to support marketing automation (email and lead generation), brand and advertising team targeting efforts
- Collects and analyzes marketing data to support closing the loop between marketing programs and attributed revenue and monitoring program performance against internal and external benchmarks
- Develops reporting that supports performance overviews of major integrated campaigns that create a holistic overview of performance across multiple channels inclusive of email, web, social media, PR and advertising (our mix of “owned”, “earned”, and “paid” media)
- Ensure that tracking systems are in place and optimized to measure and report on the global performance of key marketing and PR campaign.
- Directs technical leads during website audits to identify and implement additional tracking requirements.
- Directs technical leads in the advanced implementation of tracking/reporting platforms including those used by our major business partners inclusive of our advertising and media-buying agency, our social media syndication agency, our email and marketing automation partners, etc.
- Works closely with a cross-functional team to establish a holistic reporting approach and improve current dashboarding solutions.
- Has purview over Configuration, implementation, and auditing of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and other web tracking platforms including cross-functional project management of vendors and web administrators.
- Identify and recommend ways in which we can increase marketing lead generation, optimize marketing spend, improve digital usability, and create an overall, holistic analytics view of our digital platforms.
- Supports development and automation of global marketing and PR KPI efforts. This includes partnership with the IT team, program and process owners and external business partners to capture and store marketing and PR data in Domo.
- Supports Global Analytics Team in data QA exercises during key IT Dev releases as well as best practices for general data auditing, monitoring and notification/alerts systems.

Job Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Analytics field or 3+ years of experience in a similar role required.
- 2+ years of experience with Google Analytics (preferred) or other Web Analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics required.
- 2+ years of experience in Domo (preferred) or other data visualization/manipulation tools such as Tableau required.
- SQL knowledge required.
- MS Office Suite including strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Advanced statistical package experience (SAS, SPSS) preferred.
- Excellent communications skills – must be able to explain complex analyses in ways that are understandable and actionable to marketing and PR program owners, at various leadership levels.
- Must also be able to clearly articulate both strategic direction, and tactical actions to Senior Manager Levels, IT team, and marketing and PR stakeholders.
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Must be able to clearly work with marketing and PR program owners to determine business needs and requirements and then translate that into research and reporting requirements for internal teams and external vendors.
- Strong professional judgment with the ability to appropriately influence others as needed.
