Senior Manager, Marketing Technical Product Management

Our Fortune 500 East Bay Area (San Ramon, CA) client is seeking a Senior Manager, Marketing Technical Product Management to contribute to and oversee the team's implementation of comprehensive product analysis and development.

You will be a key resource in partnership with Design, IT, QA, and Marketing as the product(s) move to completion and distribution. You’ll work closely with management, teams and business owners to define specifications that meet business objectives.

Specific responsibilities include:

- Manages activities of two or more operations or departments through subordinate managers who exercise full supervision in terms of costs, methods and effective staffing (e.g., having the right people with the right skills in the right job).
- Responsible for personnel actions, including hiring, onboarding, firing, promotion, development, discipline, and employee compensation.
- Provides guidance and orientation for the department managers; coaches managers on goal setting and achievements. Provides direction and guidance to the management team in the development of department goals and objectives as well as execution of said goals, objectives, practices and policies.
- Ensures effective collaboration not only in the immediate team but also with other IT verticals, dev teams, and business partners to improve efficiencies and support quality deliverables. Provides knowledgeable guidance to subordinate managers for improving collaboration.
- Manages the development of product/system requirement definition and feature identification, including documentation of prioritized feature sets. Uses cases based on internal customer needs and business value, revising cases as needed.
- Communicates the development of assumptions and engages multiple stakeholders to secure alignment.
- Educates the team on recommendations; guides discussions to consensus and drives action items.
- Leads brainstorming of creative solutions and problem-solving to balance product deliverables and resources with business needs, contributing extensive and insightful knowledge of these areas to the discussion. Ensures that promising results are communicated to key stakeholders and translated into action plans.
- Manages the definition of product features and related schedules, writing of specifications based on internal user needs and business cases. Communicates functionality and incorporates feedback. Regularly reviews procedures and implements changes as needed.
- Monitors key metrics / KPIs and targets, developing plans to achieve those targets and proactively communicating progress to a variety of stakeholders. Periodically reviews metrics and targets to ensure alignment with business objectives; recommends changes as needed.
- Serves as SME for inquiries or escalations with broad implications to the plan.
- Establishes operational objectives and work plans.
- Involved in developing, modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have a Company-wide effect.
- Works on issues involving analysis of circumstances or data that require in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
- Manages the development of the Resource Plan and relationships across businesses to ensure service models and organizational readiness support product needs.
- Directs and manages the global design of solution architecture artifacts and policies to improve the predictability and efficiency of the solution architecture infrastructure solution delivery process.
- Manages creation, review, discussion, and approval of product/system requirements documentation.
- Ensures that policies and procedures are up-to-date and comprehensive.
- Leads identification and analyses of business opportunities and initiatives.

Job Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in IT-related field or equivalent years of experience
- 7+ years of team leadership, supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced IT environment in a similar role, including direct experience working for a Global Organization and/or providing cross-cultural support.
- Advanced skills in general office systems, equipment and applications to support business needs (e.g., Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Office, Project Management systems, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Strong knowledge and experience with IT tools and technologies required by the department/unit as well as IT processes and methodologies including:
- Documentation and validation of business requirements.
- Structural analysis, data modeling, information engineering, mathematical model building, sampling, and resource planning.
- Development of multi-tier business applications.
- Management of full development lifecycles for software applications using tools such as MS Project, Visio, JIRA highly desired.
- Knowledge of data management, business intelligence methodologies, and OLAP tools highly desired.
- Must be able to work in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment and work independently and apply good judgment.
- Must be able to work within a team both as a leader and as a team member.
- Must be able to convey knowledge to customers, peers, and managers of widely diverse skill levels.
- Advanced ability to analyze, evaluate and solve problems, based on an in-depth knowledge of business trends as well as organizational objectives.
- Excellent customer service skills and customer focus, strong relationships with Company constituents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in budgeting, cost control, and operational forecasting.
- Passion and drive for technology as a service and business enabler.
- Enforce KPIs used for measuring results and performing look-backs on completed projects.
- Ability to identify overlapping projects and make appropriate recommendations on the course of action to properly influence others.
- Ability to manage delivery and build effective direct reports and teams.
