Our client is actively seeking a Senior Director of Engineering who will lead and manage the teams responsible for building, scaling and maintaining our data pipeline for ingestion, data management and services; data warehousing; and data integration. The Senior Director of Engineering will help ensure that architecture and implementation of the data stack is scaled to meet the needs of the business. More importantly, the Senior Director of Engineering will ensure that the modifications and improvements made by the data engineering team to deliver solutions for requirements laid out are delivered in a timely fashion, are sustainable and maintainable, and in line with the growth plans of the business. This Senior Director will also be tasked with overseeing and growing a small development team focused on internal web application development.

Responsibilities
•You will create the vision for Data and Data Warehousing across a product vertical and create a plan to achieve that vision
•You will partner with C-Level executives/product management/data infra/customer teams to build shared goals
•Establish the processes needed to achieve operational excellence in all areas, including project management and system reliability
•You will build a high-quality BI and Data Warehousing team
•Build relationships with Data Scientists, Product Managers and Software Engineers to understand data needs
•Manage data warehouse plans across a product vertical
•Guide the design, building, and launching of new data models and data pipelines in production
•Manage development of data resources to support new product launches
•Drive data quality across the product vertical and related business areas
•Manage the delivery of insightful dashboards and data visualizations
•Establish SLA’s for all data sets and processes running in production

Job Requirements

Requirements:
•Bachelor’s Degree or 10+ years of relevant technical/leadership experience
•A demonstrated ability in optimizing technical solutions to reduce costs
•Exhibits mastery over multiple domains including applications development and data engineering
•Experience working with enterprise data warehouses. Previous work with Snowflake a plus
•Previous work with ETL/ELT tools
•Implementation and maintenance of continuous data pipelines required
•Minimum of 7+ years managing development teams using an agile software development process (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
•Minimum of 10+ years working with modern web application frameworks and various databases
•Minimum of 7+ years leading development of front-end and back-end applications (preferably with node.js and react.js stacks)
