Senior Buyer

Job Description



Description:

-This position requires experience in the steel purchasing and processes involved in the manufacturing industry.

-Sources, negotiates, and confers with suppliers to ensure that materials are available to support manufacturing and that agreements are in place covering the cost, delivery, and quality requirements.

-Interacts with all functional areas in the company.

-Responsible for procurement of raw materials, packaging, supplies, and services to support needs at multiple plant sites.

- Manages and coordinates pricing of materials, supplies, etc. to support inventory levels vs. sales forecasts and customer orders.

-Communicates with key strategic suppliers to ensure that capacity and capabilities meet customer demands and company stocking levels.

-Researches and evaluates sources (domestic and global) of critical raw materials to support the need of the business. Includes risk assessment of supplier capability, quality, capacity, price, etc.

-Issuing Purchase orders and negotiates supply and pricing agreements.

-Assists in solving procurement and/or shipping discrepancies; working with A/P, suppliers, and other internal departments as it relates to the purchasing function.

-Degree

-APICS Certification
