Our Client, a fast-growing startup, is looking for a Senior Accountant with 2+ years of public or corporate accounting or audit experience to join their team of ambitious individuals and become a critical part of an innovative company. This position is ideal for those who driven by a challenging work environment with many components. The Senior Accountant will have exposure to a vast range of responsibilities including accounting: prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation, as well as finance: variance analysis, ad-hoc reporting, budgeting, etc.

This role is for someone who wants to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. What You’ll be Doing:

- Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

- Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

- Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process

- Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

- Take part in various department-wide initiatives

- Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

- Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

- Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable

- Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

- Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

- Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting

- Actively and consistently look for ways to make things better; i.e. process improvements

- Execute accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

- 2+ years of relevant accounting or audit experience from a public accounting firm or a corporate accounting group

- Advanced Excel skills

- CPA or CPA Candidate a plus

- Spreadsheet and database capabilities

- Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

- Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
