Description:

Lead continuous improvement teams using PMI methodology and Lean Manufacturing tools. • Train project management basics, and develop a project management program for development of new manufacturing areas and factories. • Create collaboration of project information and project management tracking including use of MS Project and other Project Management Tools maintaining on time tracking of projects and reporting as required to corporate management and RVP/Plant Manager. • Initiate project management process to manage continuous improvement projects in the factory design and manufacturing process • Develop cost management tools and project tracking tools as required to maintain cost control and tracking • Manage outside resources and contractors as required to support project deliverables including engineering studies, factory plans, and equipment designs/procurement. • Understand and improve TAKT time/line balance, work content, process, data needs/flow using appropriate engineering tools and other manufacturing tools to describe the activities to improve the process, reduce waist, and reduce cycle time along with reducing scrap/rework. • Develop workstation projects working with Production, Facilities Maintenance, and other Support Groups as deemed necessary to develop, implement, and maintain factory workstations/factories • Analyze AutoCAD files and use Visio to formalize changes to scale drawings of 3-dimensional space and be able to understand all factory designs with the use of scaled engineering drawings. • Create Implementation plans including the actual physical design/improvement of workstations, racks, and carts to support production areas. • Manage the development and use of Material Handling associated with WIP. Provide support for all factory systems for materials and scrap. • Define/Develop projects for equipment and techniques that allow for the automation of process areas in the plant and that assist in the mechanization of manual processes. • Ability to effectively communicate and analyze data providing verbal and documented reports to communicate with management using MS Office and other reporting tools. • Evaluate improvement requests from Production Leads, Engineering Technician and Associates to implement productivity, cost savings, and efficiency of operation.

• Continuous improvement including analysis on capacity, throughput, and cycle time.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Complete understanding of Project Management philosophy/tools with documented history and successful use of project management tools. • AS/AAS, technical diploma or equivalent technical studies. BS/BSET, or College degree with emphasis on project management and organizational management a plus. • Business experience with a history of project management success is a plus. • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus. • 5 year’s total experience in multiple roles and knowledge of process, equipment, and production activities -- can be with different companies. • Understanding of Lean, 5S, 6 Sigma and Kaizen team’s approach. • Ability to use all MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Access, Project) and the ability to learn quickly with OJT how to apply these tools to projects. • Ability to analyze/read AutoCAD files, create sketches/diagrams/flow diagrams using Visio, and scaled drawings along with the general abilities to understand 3-dimensional space and distance.
