The Product Manager, Content is accountable for the management of the Learning Line of Business (LOB). This position is responsible for defining and leading the LOB’s strategy and product management life cycle activities for current, near-term, and future learning products within the portfolio. This includes conducting market analysis; designing and implementing the product roadmap that addresses market demands; driving current product market penetration; and analyzing feature/functionality to drive product improvements. Additional responsibilities will include improving product marketability and profitability by identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities; competitive analysis, product innovation, customer validation, and assisting with pricing strategies for the assigned LOB.
 
Responsibilities:

• Define LOB market size, competitors' share, competitors' advantages and weaknesses; forecast projected business; and establish targeted company share.

• Develop and manage long-term product roadmap, ensuring it is aligned with market needs/priorities and business objectives

• Develop and manage user personas for LOB portfolio

• Develop product requirements and priorities based on market feedback and market insights. Work closely with clients/user personas to refine product concepts prior to content development to ensure customer success and adoption. Conduct product user groups and focus groups as necessary.

• Work with a team of instructional designers and content developers to document course curriculum and fulfillment requirements

• Work closely with Marketing/Product Marketing and management teams to bring products from inception to market

• Collaborate with Marketing/Product Marketing on external product launches and to develop effective product messaging and collateral (white papers, press releases, etc.) and sales tools, including presentations and competitive write-ups

• Act as internal and external evangelist for learning products

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
• 5+ years of experience in product management with a focus on curriculum development / course design for synchronous and asynchronous instructor-led, computer-based, and web-based training, including blended learning programs
• Understanding of learning theory and design necessary
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate product vision, value, etc. internally and to market
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, clients and network of instructors to enable open product feedback
• Experience integrating modern learning methodologies and technologies into learning curricula and products is a strong plus
• Product Management training and/or certification from Pragmatic Marketing valued, but not required
