Operations Manager

Job Description

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Responsible for meeting internal quality, on time delivery, schedule attainment and productivity goals * Perform/lead activities necessary for the effective management of the manufacturing operation, including selecting and training employees; coaching, devleoping and motiviating; meeting organization goals and objectives; planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the facility * Develop and communicate the site specific long term and short term business strategies and objectives related to the Teleflex Medical OEM business unit and broader Teleflex strategies * Develop and execute the strategic and operational plan in conjunction with the site management team to achieve continuous process improvement, cost reduction and lean manufacturing * Ensure the proper implementation of manufacturing principles as they pertain to the Teleflex production system, lean tools for 5S, continuous flow, standardized work, total productive maintenenance, CIP initiatives and material pull systems * Develop employees through Teleflex performance management processes including annual work planning, development planning along with ongoing coaching and mentoring of team members * Collaborate with functional partners and stakeholders including quality, marketing, sales, customer care, product development, finance, and HR to ensure success of the business * Ensure all environmental health and safety systems, processes and procedures are followed, champion a safety driven culture. Observe and enforce all company rules and policies pertaining to EH&S. Lead by example * Ensure, FDA, ISO, Teleflex, and specific customer quality standards and prodedures are implemented and maintained at all times * Adhere to and support the compliance of Teleflex Code of Ethics, all company policies, rules procedures and housekeeping standards

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Undergraduate degree in engineering, physical sciences or related field required Advanced degree in engineering, physical sciences or business preferred 7 years of experience in manufacturing operations 5 years of management or supervisory experience (preferably in a manufacturing and/or medical device setting) 5 years of experience in the medical device industry or highly regulated industry SPECIALIZED SKILLS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS * Exceptional leadership skills as demonstrated by ability to make data driven decisions, lead a diverse organization while building a team that supports Teleflex culture in order to drive result * Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and sustain strong work cultures to achieve business results * Strong understanding of FDA, ISO and quality guidelines related to highly regulated industries * Strong background in GMP/GDP, lean manufacturing principles, CIP programs * Demonstrated behaviors consistent with a safety driven culture, understanding of EH&S requirements (OSHA, MSDS's,etc) * Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally to achieve results * Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of employees across various functions * Demonstrated knowledge of manufactured product use and applications * Track record of leading change and assisting in building an organization focused on process excellence and continuous improvement * Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and presentation skills * High engery self starter who thrives in a fast paced, lean, entrepreneurial environment and will 'roll up their sleeves' to get the job done
