Managing Director - Hilton Bonnet Creek & Waldorf Astoria Orlando

Job Description

Reporting to the Area Vice President, the Managing Director is responsible for managing the daily hotel operations to achieve planned goals for the property in keeping with all corporate and brand standards. In this role the Managing Director will demonstrate leadership in directing the development and execution of strategic sales and marketing initiatives, financial planning and analysis, and operations excellence.


The key goals of the Managing Director are to maximize profitability and ensure guest and team member satisfaction. They are directly responsible for the success of all departments of the Hilton Bonnet Creek and Waldorf Astoria Orlando including strategy setting, people performance, key initiatives and engagement. The Managing Director will be responsible for ensuring hotel implementation and compliance of Hilton Corporate policies and procedures as well as Brand Standards. They will communicate with hotel owners and corporate offices, as required to accomplish these goals.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Four-year college degree or significant work experience with a proven track record in leading teams

  • Ability to attract, motivate, lead, inspire and direct a talented team

  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in hotel industry, with a multi-disciplinary background

  • 10 years' experience as a Hotel General Manager, with direct responsibility for budgeting and forecasting

  • 5 years' experience leading a property with multiple dining outlets, including fine dining, and banquet facilities

  • Experience managing complex owner relationships

  • Experience in a leadership role managing $125M+ annual revenue in a 1000+ room property

  • Excellent communication skills, public speaking, written and oral, with the ability to customize the message to the audience (guest, team member, owner, and other stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with large groups or convention business

  • Multi-property or regional experience highly desired

  • Global experience advantageous, working cross culturally with guests and team members

  • Resort management and luxury experience is highly desired

  • Ability to communicate in other languages

  • Experience managing luxurious spa experiences and recreational programs

  • Experience with large scale renovation, rebranding and repositioning
