Robert Half Technology has a client southwest of Madison that is seeking someone for their new Senior Manager that will oversee their web platform. This is a newly created position and be responsible for building out the web/ecommerce team of developers. In addition to building the team, this Manager of web and ecommerce will also be driving e-commerce initiatives with the goal to offset call-center derived sales to the more automated technical online platform while still conveying a uniform and exceptional online customer experience. In addition to being the the owner of the e-commerce site of the company, this person will also be part of the overall leadership team of the organization. Job Requirements

3 Keys the Senior Manager must possess in order to be considered include... - Previous experience overseeing a successful e-commerce platform, building the team and leading the initiative would be ideal. This also includes hiring, mentoring, a team of web developers. Having a solid understanding of the innerworkings of e-commerce - product life cycles, UI/UX, SDLC, project plans, alignment of business to e-commerce strategy, digital marketing, payment processing, catalog management, affiliate marketing, etc. - Technical aptitude and capability - while this person will oversee the technical developers of the team, it's important for this person to understand the technology side of e-commerce. There will be a digital marketing counterpart to this person, but knowing serverless technologies, what [secure] coding best practices are, SDLC, agile, coding, order flow and transactions, and how the platform works from a technical perspective needs to be understood. - Leadership. The team currently has one opening for a full stack LAMP developer that has experience with Magento and there is one other person that is on the team that splits time between web and internal IT (support). You will need to not only build the team and lead members of your organization, but you will be on the leadership team of the organization. You will need to understand the business, handle a budget, align initiatives with company strategy and execute upon those. You will need to manage scope creep and prioritize work to members of the team and also work cross-functionally with digital marketing, information technology, call center/customer service, order fulfillment, and executive leadership with target goals in mind. This will also involve working with and vetting 3rd party vendors/resources. A leader will move things forward in a positive manner. - 3+ years of leading technical staff would be ideal. 6+ years of prior software/web development experience will certainly apply to your technical aptitude and leadership. - Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience - Understand web strategies and industry trends. You can't move forward if you don't know where technology is headed. Being a thought leader and displaying examples of your forward-thinking will be appreciated.
