Laboratory Manager

Job Description

We are a healthcare industry leader and a Fortune 200 company with an immediate need for a Laboratory Manager. This is a direct hire, permanent job located in Murrieta, CA. Candidates local to Riverside County are preferred; relocation assistance is possible for an ideal candidate located elsewhere in California. California Clinical Laboratory Scientist certification is required for this job.


In this role, you will be responsible for managing operations and staff at two local 120 bed acute care hospitals. You will ensure compliance with all relevant protocols as well as federal and state requirements. You will supervise laboratory staff. You will also be responsible for data management and for ensuring quality control of all laboratory specimens.


Responsibilities:


  • Human Resources management of all laboratory staff (scheduling, continuing education, vacations, evaluations).

  • Manage laboratory inventory including supplies, equipment, consumables.

  • Manage and update laboratory protocols and safety SOPs.

  • Train laboratory personnel.



Job Requirements

Requirements:


  • Five years of people management/supervisory experience required

  • Three years experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) highly preferred.

  • Three years experience as a manager within a hospital laboratory is preferred.

  • General understanding of physiology, biochemistry, immunology, microbiology, and genetic factors that affect health and disease in relation with laboratory testing.

  • Follows the State of California, DHS, Laboratory Field Services requirements of education for licensure of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS).

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or healthcare field required. Master’s degree preferred..

  • Valid CLS certification from the State of California is REQUIRED.
