Interim Compliance Consultant - Records Retention

Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent Group has an immediate need for an Interim Compliance Consultant in the Philadelphia area.


Responsibilities

  • Create records retention policy at a high level with records retention schedule that will sit outside the policy
  • Create schedule for completing work and identify any dependencies or key issues that may interfere with successful completion of project to schedule
  • Data maps can be an initial element of review for the kinds of information Company collects and uses
  • Identify records retention requirements by location
  • Identify if any information is subject to a minimum retention period (e.g., if order information must be maintained in any market to comply with tax laws)
  • Identify if any information is subject to a maximum retention period
  • Develop global Company records retention policy based on retention requirements
  • Identify - and work to mitigate adverse impacts on - critical processes and functions that may be affected by the application of a records retention policy
  • Align policy to third parties that may have Company records (e.g., contractors, outsourcing entities)
  • Create training materials
  • Create audit template; create plan to audit locations and functions over a period (e.g., 2 years)

Qualifications

  • Experience developing and implementing enterprise wide compliance programs
  • Some background in privacy or data management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Political savvy and an ability to navigate organizations and work with all levels of stakeholders
