Home Automation Manager

Overview

Summary of Position Requirements

Manager progress of construction of new models, ensure models are ready for installation, and then manage installation and activation of all home automation products. Train and support Sales Manager, New Home Consultant, Customer Care Associates and other impacted Division personnel.



Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Monitoring Construction and Installation of New Homes:

  • Ensure models are 100% ready for activation by managing construction progress and then completing a pre-activation walkthrough and checklist
  • Manage relationships with trade partners for improvement opportunities
  • Perform onsite observations of Amazon activations
  • Communicate new model construction to the Regional Account Manager
  • Monitor performance of the home automation products in each model
  • Report technology issues to the Regional Account Manager
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of home automation products in models
  • Manage Purchase Orders and BuildPro approvals related to Home Automation models ($1000 limit)
  • Ensure activation readiness of models to expedite activation and increase cost savings

Training and Support

  • Manage communication plan for all stakeholders to ensure divisional alignment with opportunities 
  • Facilitate home automation training for Sales Manager and New Home Consultants
  • Provide feedback on training issues, effectiveness, and improvements
  • Ensure onsite training complies with all company/department policies and procedures
  • Establish and maintain communication on status of New Home Consultants training and submit to the Lennar division leadership and the Regional Account Manager
  • Communicate with corporate office to understand, implement and train on all corporate initiatives

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Fundamental residential home automation and Smart Home technology knowledge
  • Experience with basic network configuration and troubleshooting, testing equipment (e.g., Network tester, Toner, FVD), using technology tools (e.g., tablet, phone, laptop)
  • Embraces change with a positive demeanor
  • Ability to deal with challenging technical situations in the field with limited supervision
  • Demonstrates excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrates flexibility in traveling to different division when needed
  • Capable of training colleagues on processes and procedures
  • Can serve as team leader during manager’s absence
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Good listening and problem-solving skills
  • Represent an image of integrity and professionalism
  • Promotes a positive company image (i.e., uniform, clean company vehicle, good communication skills)
