Finance Manager/Controller

The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, handles the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluates accounting and internal control systems, and leads departmental staff. The Controller position is a full-time opportunity in the Ft. Mill, South Carolina region. Key responsibilities - Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations - Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed - Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation - Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts - Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations G/L analysis - Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll - Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash - Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques - Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports - Flexible in completing tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

Job Requirements

- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment - Month end closings experience - Comprehensive knowledge of account reconciliation - Knowledge of budget forecasting - Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued - Great attention to detail - Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field - Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred - Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines - Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills - Excellent oral and written communications skills - Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds - Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued - 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
