And where you will act fast and drive results for customers and patients.  Power your future & join our bold team.   Position Overview The Executive Director, Infrastructure and Data Center Operations position based in Madison, NJ is a key leadership role within the Technology and Infrastructure Group. The ideal candidate will represent and manage several teams to deliver on physical/virtual IT infrastructure capabilities and be accountable for designing, supporting and evolving our Private and Public Cloud Data Center environments. The position is responsible for providing reliability, accountability, and optimization of all colocation Service Delivery Network resources through strong technical leadership and a strategic view towards hybrid cloud solutions. By guiding the implementation of critical operating practices and procedures, the Executive Director, will ensure service operations and production support are prioritized and managed to provide reliable, high-performance environments for all business operations and customers. Main Areas of Responsibilities
  • Lead teams in building and operating secure, available and performant infrastructure platform environments in support of revenue producing products and services.
  • Co-manage the Executive Platform Engineering and advise executive senior management of business risks and opportunities associated with our Data Center operations.
  • Establish and maintain a culture of excellence in all Data Center operations and drive the quality and responsiveness of all operational incident response activities to include proactive server support, maintenance and vulnerability remediation via effective root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Provide single-point ownership of all Data Center operations, from initial architecture decisions and documentation throughout the entire management lifecycle
  • Design, develop and implement an effective governance model that can help with efficiencies in the field of private/public cloud offering and the Relational Database footprint.
  • Ensure consistent risk management, change management, monitoring, and 24x7 incident response in the Data Centers
  • Implement a robust training program and overall Data Center staff development strategy
  • Develop and manage the Data Center budget for maintenance, repairs, capital and general operating costs, bottom-up development of yearly budgets, and negotiation and approval of vendor contracts/agreements
  • Ensure that Data Centers comply with all local, state, and federal health and safety requirements and various accreditations
  • Facilitate any audit responses or data gathering
  • Specific experience in the pharmaceutical and/or health care industry with specific FDA regulatory compliance experience is beneficial.
Requirements The following listed requirements need to be met at a minimum level to be considered for the job:
  • 10 years of Data Center support & facilities experience in mission critical environments with 5 years in a supervisory/management role leading an Infrastructure team supporting SaaS solutions.
  • 5 Years of related understanding pertaining to private cloud solutions, such as OpenStack and VMware.
  • 3 years of experience dealing with effective lifecycle management of Data Center assets.
  • 2 years of working understanding of key networking concepts (firewalls, switches, DNS, etc.).
Preferred Skills/Qualification
  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, VMware vSphere, CISCO UCS Central, Relational Databases.
  • Technical Certifications (MCSE, CCNP, CDCP, CDCE, NetApp, or VMware).
  • Network Services - BGP / AWS Direct experience.
  • Experience with firewall deployments and routing/switching technologies.
  • Implementation of hybrid (Public/Private) cloud deployments.
  • Strong management and leadership skills gained through experience managing people, process, and technology while seeking to expand knowledge and committed to continuous learning
  • Team player with excellent consultative communication and negotiation skills, proven ability to work effectively with internal/external clients, vendors and consultants.
  • Ability to communicate equally effectively to Engineers, Product Managers, Sales, Customer Satisfaction, and Executives supported by metrics and analysis of Data Center operations
  • Working knowledge of private cloud virtualized infrastructure needs, along with high level understanding of needs pertaining to Relational Databases.
  • A strong understanding of Hybrid Data Center Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) strategies and hot-site operational planning is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of data center critical systems, including: diesel generators, UPS systems, fuel systems, switchgear, power distribution equipment, chillers, computer room air handlers, fire detection/suppression and building monitoring systems.
  • Sets strategy and can translate into measurable objectives that are tracked and well understood by members of the team.
  • Knowledge of SDLC and structured project management methodologies.
Education
  • BS in Computer Science, or Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
  • Advanced degree, MBA, is preferred.
