Director of Program Management

.Established, stable and growing Aerospace manufacturing company in Fort Mitchell, KY seeking aDirector of Program ManagementPOSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Program Management is responsible for the management of all customer programs while directing the course of operations, supply chain, engineering, quality, and new product development teams as well as related projects across the business. This position collaborates closely with business leaders to monitor and communicate all program/project details with team members in order to have a successful customer programs (quality, cost, delivery, growth, profitability, etc.). The Director, Program Management will drive and motivate the operational and engineering teams to deliver the product(s) as per the agreed-to requirements to our customers. Responsible for overseeing the supply chain functions including materials planning and procurement, inventory planning, transportation, and distribution in accordance with customer expectations and our contractual commitments. Leads the operations planning, forecasting, and demand planning processes to ensure supply and service levels meet customer expectations, while managing cost, margins, and profitability effectively. Approves processed sales orders and conducts contract reviews for production begins. Manages the project milestones for new programs and /or projects and oversees the managing, negotiating, administrating, and maintaining of all active and inactive contracts and terms. The Director, Program Management acts as the highest centralized point of contact for our customers and our company regarding all sales orders management and program performance.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
  • Manages the commercial aspect of the relationship between our customers and TECT, growing our business through managing internal growth opportunities with the customers.
  • Responsible for managing and driving the price proposal process (including reviews, approvals, assessment of models, adhering to timelines, etc.).
  • Responsible for program / project profit and margin responsibly - full P&L for entire customer base.
  • Responsible for ensuring favorable cash relative to customer programs and our business expectations.
  • Responsible for managing “scope creep” on NPI as well as legacy products and execute the proper financial assertions to the customer.
  • Responsible for managing claims with customers and driving successful resolution financially and relationship-wise.
  • In conjunction with Sales, leads / supports the negotiation of contracts / terms with our customers in regards to pricing, production schedules, and all other terms.
  • Monitors the planning and scheduling of contract manufacturing services including all master scheduling activities throughout the organization (operations, supply chain, engineering, quality, etc.).
  • Supports target inventory levels of products being planned by incumbent, minimizing excess stock for optimal asset management.
  • Coordinate inter departmental activities in the transition of new and/or existing products to contract
  • Coordinate product decommissioning activities upon product rationalization decisions.
  • Maintain current and accurate ERP system master file data integrity (Item Master, Planning Records, Bill of Materials, MRP/DRP, Purchase Orders, Vendor Master, etc.).
  • Improve department policies and procedures in support of the most efficient operation and to maintain the highest levels of customer service.

  • Holds the Program Manager accountable for the successful completion of all assigned projects and overall responsibilities; leverages strengths and opportunities across the team as well as customer-base which can be very dynamic.
  • Presents all project status to the executive members and keeps constant contact with all assigned project clients and partners both internal and external to the company.
  • Keep current training qualifications based on required training.
  • The flexibility and leadership to take on other duties as assigned.
  • SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Project Management Professional Certification a plus
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office and Project
  • Strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient at creating and tracking complex development schedules, managing issue and track errors
  • Solid understanding of product development lifecycles
  • Strong understanding of operational requirements for manufacturing products
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Ability to negotiate contracts and build customer loyalty
  • Ability to train and manager people simultaneously
  • Job Requirements

    .EDUCATION: Master Degree (MBA, JD, or equivalent), preferred but not required. 4-year Bachelor Degree, required unless equivalent experience and skillset meets requirements. Engineering, Business or related field from an accredited college or university, preferred. A minimum of 10 years prior experience in relevant operational and/or project management experience, required. Adhere to defense industry’s initiatives on business ethics and conduct with respect to fraud, waste, and abuse.
