Robert Half Technology has an reputable client in search of a Director of Procurement, Professional Services. This opportunity is located in Bannockburn, IL and will be a long term contract with potential to convert to full time. 20% - Leadership in a Matrix Environment ? Help execute strategies to develop world class sourcing solutions and deliver continuity, quality, and optimized cost structures across our supply base for the Professional Services category (suppliers such as Accenture, Wipro, HCL, Highpoint). ? Create a coherent delivery plan that is shared jointly with the Business and constantly renew the pipeline with the next wave of value-adding projects. ? Ensures utilization of established tools/systems adherence to policies. ? Manage the Professional Services category with appropriate project leadership (sourcing initiatives) in an environment of constant change and shifting priorities. 20% - Client/Internal Relations ? Work seamlessly with the newly merged Newco Takeda team. ? Demonstrate value delivery to a target audience of VP/Sr Dir/Dir level stakeholders to obtain Business buy-in and engagement. ? This role is responsible for helping the credibility and reputation of Procurement as a value-adding team member. ?Selling? the value delivered by the Procurement function is a key part of this role. ? Understand Business area needs strategies and priorities and service accordingly. ? Help ensure Procurement is a commercial asset and not just a compliance function. ? Enact pan-business sourcing to leverage Takeda?s buying power. ? Show the Business how to make their budgets go further or get more for less. ? Be knowledgeable in best procurement practice for the Professional Services category and be able to explain to the Business why and how this adds value. ? Show the Business the value through compelling business case development, including capturing Category-wide demand to leverage opportunity across Shire. ? Execute Sourcing Strategies with the Business, advising and guiding the process to the best-fit approach, tactics and tools (e.g. outcome-based specifications, RFP/RFI/RFQ builds, E-auctions). ? Meet regularly stakeholders and fellow team members to ensure alignment solicit feedback. ? Demonstrate Takeda values in all relationships (including suppliers). 50% - Processes, Metrics Execution ? Work closely with Finance Business Partners to obtain savings approvals. ? Track progress against objectives; refine and develop audience-specific updates. ? Use market research to ensure that Takeda stays abreast of latest market cost/value/innovation developments. ? Help create, prioritize and plan a pipeline of opportunities to deliver the saving objectives (approved by the Finance Business Partner) for the Professional Services category. 10% - Supplier Relations ? Enable Takeda to get the best out of its suppliers by working in partnership with them for mutual good business. ? Help the Business conduct post contract management (PCM) and facilitate supplier relationship management (SRM) with key (top 20%) suppliers. ? Ensure Procurement, the Business and Suppliers conduct business ethically, and within the Company?s Anti Bribery and Corruption and FCPA guidelines. ? Alert the leadership to any improper practices.
