Director of Marketing and Communications

Compensation: $75000.00 to $85000.00 yearly

TCG is partnering with a national non-profit in the search for a Director of Marketing and Communications. The Director of Marketing Communications will develop and implement a broad range of marketing, communications, PR, and fundraising strategies. He/she will oversee the annual marketing plan and budget, and will develop and implement marketing initiatives in alignment with financial and mission goals.
Responsibilities include:
* Researching, developing, deploying and analyzing new marketing strategies
*Setting strategy, messaging, and look and feel across all brand collateral, print advertising, communications, video and website
*Monitoring and enforcing brand standards across the organization
*Building out a disciplined PR strategy and program. Act as primary contact for all media and proactively work to develop and steward a database of responsive media contacts. Deploy project-specific PR campaigns as necessary to promote mission work and support business objectives
*Leading fundraising strategy, working alongside the Development Director, Membership Director, and Senior Content Strategist to identify appropriate messaging and channel strategy for major fundraising campaign
*Overseeing the Membership Director, providing high-level strategic leadership in the growth and retention of membership, in alignment with revenue goals
*Working with the Membership Director to ensure social media presence is optimized, growing, and aligned with brand and communications strategy
*Overseeing the Senior Content Strategist in execution of the organization’s content deliverables, including e-newsletter, policy digest, blog content, news content, fundraising content
*Managing, maintaining, and growing a pool of outside contractors (including graphic designers, website developers, videographers, writers, copy editors, etc.) to implement marketing initiatives
*Working in collaboration with the Development Director and Executive Director to identify and produce high-impact marketing collateral to support major donor initiatives
*Collaboration with Program Directors to promote and effectively communicate mission through communications, marketing collateral, and public relations efforts
*Overseeing website, including design, user interface, architecture, and content management to ensure that mission and purpose are reflected in the websites' content, imagery, branding, and navigation

Job Requirements

*Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, PR, or related field
*7+ years of management experience in a marketing /communications focused role, 2+ years in a leadership role
*Experience in digital and traditional marketing, PR, and media strategy
*Strong project management experience
*Comfortable working in a CRM database, CMS, marketing automation software, and Google Analytics
*Previous non-profit experience preferred
*Previous agency experience (marketing, advertising, PR) preferred
*Passionate about advocacy for the outdoors (rock climbing highly preferred) - experience working, volunteering, and / or participating in outdoor recreation and environmental focused work
