Director of Finance

Our Service/Distribution Client is for a Director of Finance that would report to the CFO and is responsible for the following:
• Prepares, interprets, and presents monthly financial statements that summarize and forecast company business activity and earnings based on past, present, and planned operations. Prepares and reports on key performance measures on a quarterly basis.
• Maintains an in-depth understanding of the company’s major information systems including; billing and sales performance and contract management. Analyzes the accuracy of business results reported, and explains the summary results to operating management.
• Directs preparation of annual business plans, reviews planning proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
• Analyzes, consolidates, and directs all cost accounting procedures. Annually updates the company’s “threshold” costing systems.
• Administers insurance coverage for protection against company property losses and potential liabilities, health insurance, and workman’s compensation coverage. Works with insurance companies regarding claims control efforts on all insurances.
• Oversees compensation and benefits administration and directs cash management including managing the company’s cash flow, cash availability, and short-term cash.
• Responsible for coordination with outside auditors and tax accountants for providing necessary information for completion of the audit of company’s financial statements and preparation of the company’s tax return. Responsible for all other tax filings, government and regulatory reporting.
• Responsible for maintaining oversight and effectiveness of internal controls for processing of online donation system and interaction with related vendors. Coordination with SOC and PCI auditors and responsible for successful completion of corresponding audits.
Requirements
• 10 years of progressively responsible experience in similar or related positions required.
• Prior managerial experience required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required, Master’s Degree preferred
• CPA or CMA designation required with Public Accounting experience preferred
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, federal and state financial regulations
• Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
• Working knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets and product-line profitability analysis
• Strong skills in managing performance of others, coaching and employee development
• Work requires professional written and verbal communication. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
• Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, some travel and seasonal overtime
