With a trackrecord of 30 years of product development experience and technical expertise,the Company’s services provide tremendous value to leading OEMs and well‐fundedstartups, accelerating time to market and reducing overall cost.
The Director of Engineering is responsiblefor leading an experienced engineering organization, driving talentdevelopment, process optimization, integrated life‐cycle services andintellectual property of the product development operation – includingSoftware, Electronics, Mechanical, and PCB Engineers.
MUST HAVE SOME RECENT YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN MEDICAL DEVICES.
As a member of theCompany’s leadership team, the Director of Engineering will help create, driveand execute business strategies ‐ including initiatives, processes, goals, andshort‐ and long‐term objectives.
o Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained.
o Identify and maintain outside resources toaugment staffing needs.
o Support recruitment through internships andco‐op program.
o Actively work to build a highly motivated,enthusiastic, and skilled engineering team.
o Mentor, coach and develop staff on engineeringdesign process, best practices, estimating and problem solving. Set expectations and evaluate the team.
o Effectively build and develop leaders withinyour organization.
o Work with ProgramManagement to allocateresources across activeprojects.
o Lead the department technically ‐ be the face ofthe Company’s engineering both internally andexternally.
o Provide effective decision‐making based uponsound technical experience.
o Lead and support engineering problem‐solving activities.
o Seek to understand the customer’s needs andtheir problems to be solved and envision solutions that meet those needs.
o Support sales as the design engineering andproduct development subject matter expert by presenting our capabilities in acompelling manner.
o Support the proposal team to created detailedSOW with consideration of scope,schedule and cost to enable the project to succeed.
o Build relationships with client upper management to facilitate communication and alignment.
o Measure the performance of the group to ensurehigh‐levels of efficiency and customer satisfaction. Utilize measurements to drive groupcontinuous improvement activities.
Lead the strategic vision for product development group. Identify and implement the latest technology to enhance the growth of the organization.
Lead the department to track and improve the quality, productivity and predictability of engineering project execution.
Identification of new software platforms / tools for the department.
Understand how your group contributes to the success of other groups.
Support other departments within the Company.
