Commercial Marketing Manager II

Job Description

FUNCTION:

This dynamic role supports M&T Bank’s fast growing commercial payments product areas.  The product set includes treasury management solutions (e.g. payables, receivables); merchant services (e.g. payment technologies, payment acceptance options); and Commercial financing solutions (e.g. Commercial card, lines of credit). 


This experienced merchant, card and/or treasury management marketer will work with business lines to develop and execute product marketing programs that address business needs -- shaping our story (i.e. what we offer and why customers should care), both internally and externally.


The successful candidate will deliver integrated product marketing experiences that drive business value. This may include technology platform branding and enhancement, research and analysis, content development, events and sponsorships, promotions, online / offline advertising, collateral and sales support materials, social media, direct communications, and internal communications support. 

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:


DEVELOP MARKETING STRATEGY:  Identify marketing and communication needs for these products based upon business objectives.  Leverage your understanding of emerging marketing capabilities and new Commercial Banking products and services into your marketing strategy.
CREATE AND EXECUTE MARKETING PROGRAMS: Partner with marketing centers of excellence to adapt and syndicate messaging and creative by channel - digital (web and email), social media (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook), video, print, webinars, media/PR, trade shows, client entertainment, and conferences. Identify, recommend and develop content for key programs. Manage production and incorporate regular feedback from internal stakeholders.
MEASURE AND IMPROVE:  Evaluate marketing effectiveness in meeting business objectives. Analyze results of marketing campaigns and develop recommendations based upon campaign results.
RISK MANAGEMENT: Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

 

NATURE AND SCOPE:

The position is responsible for providing the Commercial Bank with effective product marketing and communication programs designed to drive business and support our brand health.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience in managing marketing campaigns in a client or agency environment, or in marketing, portfolio management, product development and/or product role.


In lieu of degree, a minimum of 12 years’ experience in managing marketing campaigns in a client or agency environment or in marketing, portfolio management, product development and/or product risk.


Minimum five years project management/supervisory experience.


IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:


•    Deep expertise in Treasury Management, Commercial Card and/or Merchant Services product sets.


•    Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel


•    Excellent oral and written communication skills


•    Ability to gather, interpret and incorporate feedback from a large group of stakeholders


•    Ability to work independently and function as a member of a project team


•    Strong work ethic, self-starter, ability to work both independently and as a team member


•    Possesses a customer-focused mindset



•    Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
