BUSINESS SYSTEMS MANAGER
BCforward is seeking a Business Systems Manager for a direct hire role in Crawfordsville or Noblesville, IN
In this hands-on leadership role, the Business Systems Manager will own responsibility for maintenance, configuration and upgrades of business software applications. The role will provide business support and training on productivity applications, consult on proposed application integrations and interfaces, have responsibility for QA and testing of business applications, and proactively champion and drive change management activities across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assess, conceptualize, plan and maintain application architectures across the enterprise based on current technology best practices
Recommend and execute application upgrades
Install and configure software applications (may include business systems, telephony, network and productivity tools)
Monitor performance of systems
Troubleshoot issues, including review of software source code as necessary
Ensure security through access controls and role-based security principles
Train staff on new features and functions, perform regular refresher training
Plan and implement effective QA and testing processes for new implementation, product releases or feature/function changes
Lead external vendors and other operations personnel as needed
Build internal documentation for supported applications, which may include technical documentation, manuals, IT policies, walkthroughs, demos and webinars
Supervisory Responsibilities may directly manage teams of Engineers, Specialists and/or Analysts
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This is a leadership position, leading both technical resources and helping guide business users. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill. You will need to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You will possess the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. Must be tech-savvy and possess excellent time management and project execution skills. Need the natural ability to quickly learn, use, troubleshoot and maintain business applications. This role will have visibility to upper management and operational staff, interpersonal/people and presentation skills are a must. You will frequently work directly with strategic business units to solve problems, find ways to optimize business operations to gain efficiency, and have a direct impact on results. Will be comfortable being hands-on, in the trenches, doing the work, while also contributing to the strategic direction of IT.
Education and/or Experience
B.S./B.A. in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) is a plus)
Two to five years proven experience as a Business System Mgr, Software Developer, or similar role in a mid-to-large size corporate environment
Proven experience with: Leading IT teams (engineers, specialists, analysts), with performing formal QA and testing activities in a project environment, training business users in multiple settings (1:1, classroom, remotely), and experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl, VB or other languages
Experience with various operating systems and platforms, and with business productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing skills.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Must maintain a valid driver's license and demonstrate the ability to drive a vehicle independently.
