Application Development Manager (SOA)
What You'll Do
This is an entry level management position within MIS area. Will communicate effectively with associates, peers & primary customers (business units or other MIS teams). Will have the ability to manage & maintain emotions & respond to difficult & challenging situations without emotional reactions. Other responsibilities may include: focusing on associate management & development; introduction to a competency-based management program; coaching, listening & providing timely feedback to your associates; interviewing candidates & participating with hiring decisions; understanding & having the ability to execute towards a technology strategy; having the ability to set challenging yet attainable goals for associates; requesting, managing & monitoring work efforts; understanding current processes & promoting adherence; recognizing ambiguity; ensuring compliance with all software licensing agreements; having budgetary awareness & understands lights-on, non-discretionary & discretionary work; actively managing load & resource planning; having the ability to manage projects & work efforts to a Service Delivery LifeCycle process (SDLC); having the ability to understand risk & impact to the business. Other duties as assigned.
The SOA Innovation Manager will manage and oversee the solutions, technologies and activities required to complete the backlog projects within the Innovation area of the Enterprise Integration Team. This individual will manage the Innovation area resources and contractors to ensure that the projects are staffed appropriately. The SOA Innovation Manager will work with Project Managers and Scrum Leaders to ensure project deliverables are identified and scheduled appropriately within the sprint schedule of the Enterprise Integration area.
We are looking specifically for the following for this individual
- Knowledge of SOA and API concepts is expected.
- Agile environment experience is helpful.
Who You Are
-2 or 4-year Degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field
-3 years technical work experience
- Preferred Requirements
-1 year management experience, supervisory or team lead experience
- In this Role, You will Need
-Knowledge of system development methodology
-Knowledge of fundamental principles of functional and unit testing
-Knowledge of web-services architecture and implementation
-Knowledge of relational database technologies
-Knowledge of continuous Integration tools
-Demonstrated experience using Source Control tools and processes
