Senior Manager Business Strategy
Location Ridgefield Park, NJ

Responsible for developing and managing go to market and competitive strategy for Samsungs Mobile business in the U.S., which include Mobile Phones, Tablets, PCs, Wearables, Accessories businesses, etc. (Samsungs IM Information & Mobile Business) Three key pillars of work scope include:

Business Strategy
•The business strategy pillar requires the identification of mid-term and annual strategic priorities for our mobile business and formulating action against those pillars; this is a highly iterative process that looks across all aspect of Samsungs Mobile business in the U.S.
•This requires setting the targets, identifying the gaps, and figuring out the right set of strategic priorities and specific execution plans to achieve the targets both annually as well as for the mid-term.
•Also, be able to formulate more initiative specific strategy that combines all aspect of developing, syndicating and aligning strategies and tactics around the initiative across the organization (e.g. Switching Strategy)
•Needs to be keen on identifying and analyzing what will be the most critical trends, threats, changes that we must prepare for and how to prepare for them
•Job requires working across Samsung teams to both establish and communicate the strategy and oversee/manage implementation of them.

Corporate Strategy & Business Intelligence
•Identifying business opportunities in adjacent and new areas that are value-add / incremental to the business
•Analyzing business implications, pros and cons on specific market events, new entrants, etc. and drawing upon strategic recommendations and action plans with business impact
•Building relationship and liaisons across various functional groups and facilitate collaboration and drive business initiatives

Strategic Projects
•Cross-functional project management on strategic assignment from US top management team as well as HQ.
•Manages category specific initiatives (e.g. Mobile Enhancement growth project)
•Job requires working across Samsung teams to both establish and communicate the strategy

Background / Experience:
MBA or Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of directly related experience, successful track record for growth and leadership is required. Experience should include management consulting, product management, strategic sales & marketing management, business analytics, business planning and strategy development. Experience in wireless terminals products a plus. Must be able to write, read, analyze, and interpret wireless terminals technical product, marketing and financial materials.

Work is generally performed in an office environment. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal between 50% - 95% of work time, including prolonged periods of time. Requires considerable (90%+) work utilizing high visual acuity/detail, numeric/character distinction, and moderate hand/finger dexterity. The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time is under 25 pounds. Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenge, some language barriers, and project management deadlines. Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include printers, copiers, faxes, and other equipment commonly associated with an office work area. May require working additional hours beyond normal schedule. Travel varies depending on position. Consistently demonstrates a commitment to policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities.

Possess strong business acumen and analytical skills to identify, structure and solve business problems for short and mid-term. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels within the organization and within customer organizations. The ability to convince others, in a potentially adversarial and highly technical environment, including customer leadership, VP's, directors & managers, and vendors with opposing views to accept/approve plans, technical, and project recommendations. The ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple and simultaneous projects.

The ability to develop tasks and work assignments, clearly define objectives, and give direction with applied knowledge of alternatives and decision-making experience to guide subordinates. Demonstrated ability to formulate and defend opinions regarding market and competitive direction along with associated impact on company strategy. Ability to negotiate on behalf of function to come to agreement by managing communications through discussions and compromise; issues are long-term operational, tactical and strategic in nature.

The ability to quickly absolve, internalize, syndicate and synthesize critical insights that help developing business situation analysis, formulating potential solution paths, and gaining consensus to execute and implement strategic decisions.

The ability to work across various internal and external teams in high pressured environment to be able to carry on complex assignments for short and mid-term. Willingness to learn and face the constant challenges of the change in the industry is a must.

The ability to make highly visual, intuitive presentation material with complex set of information and analysis. Proficiency in excel spreadsheets (advanced) and other written document drafting skills.
