                                                          Plant Manager

Responsibilities


Manager the overall, safe operations of the manufacturing facility to include, but not limited to, safety, personnel, housekeeping, maintenance, production, customer requirements/interface, planning and scheduling. Serves as a member of the Management Leadership Team.  Assist in development and evaluation of reports.   Make recommendations for process improvement.
Serves as an internal auditor for ISO standards.


Production


Work with Supervisors and/or crews to develop attainable goals for each machine center.

Work with Supervisors and crews to eliminate barriers in meeting production goals.

Assist corporate personnel in researching, recommending and installing new equipment and implementing facility changes.

Ensure necessary reporting is complete.  Reviews data and assists Superintendent in process improvement opportunities.

Interact with outside contractors, as necessary.

Interact with local and state officials, as necessary.


Maintenance


Interact with Maintenance and Plant Superintendents to help prioritize work orders and preventative maintenance schedules; help to eliminate barriers in making repairs.

Reviews and verifies accuracy of data for mechanical/electrical capital projects.

Together with Maintenance Superintendent assist to ensure the proper selection and orientation of approved contractors.


Safety


Maintain a safe working environment for all employees and visitors.



Personnel


Together with Human Resources and others, serves as facilitator of the new employee hiring committee.
Assist Supervisors with employee relations activities and the counseling and mentoring of employees.
Ensure investigation meetings are conducted prior to recommending disciplinary action.
Develop training plans for direct reports for their personal and professional development.
Conduct performance reviews on an annual basis.
Assist General Manager and Human Resources Manager to define, create and implement training plans and processes for hourly personnel.
Conduct various training sessions to include, but not limited to, new employee orientation, safety meetings, team training, ISO document training, leadership training, etc. 




Education and Experience


  • Four year college degree highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 7 years of supervisory experience in the corrugated industry preferably as a Plant Manager or Plant Superintendent.  Good maintenance background very helpful.
