Contract to Hire:Multimedia Creative Director

We are looking for strong Creative Director who has ideally worked within an agency environment across events, experiential, exhibitions or retail environments. It is important that you have been involved at all stages of the creative process – from discovery and concept design to production and live implementation. Our Senior Designer is responsible for translating our clients' brands, stories, and messaging into a focused and compelling vision. It is the role of the Senior Designer to ensure that designs not only look beautiful, but also make functional, strategic and business sense. They launch ambitious and high-profile campaigns, mark milestone events, and honor moments of leadership transition with the end goal of engaging alumni, donors, and the broader community in their stories. With direction from our Creative Strategists, you will concept, create and develop environments that bring to life the research, ideas, programs, and experiences these institutions are producing for the world every day. Our ideal candidate is a fountain of ideas and creative thinking who can conceptualize and implement quickly, independently or collaboratively. Believes in working through the problem through investigation and iteration whether for a single element or an entire space. Can demonstrate strong guest experience sensibilities with an uncanny level of curiosity; keeps up with the evolving landscape of available tools, technologies and resources as well as maintaining a positive efficient approach to the practice of design. Collaborates with team members and other creatives as well as Producers and Fabrication Managers to solve complex problems with simple engaging and elegant solutions. He or she is an effective diplomat with strong communication and organizational skills who is willing to prove themselves within a company of talented individuals.

Job Requirements

• You have a portfolio packed with events, environments, exhibits, stage sets, retail, pop-ups and brand activations that you have conceived, created, and produced in conjunction with colleagues in strategy, technical design, and production. Theater background a plus. • You demonstrate a keen understanding of how people interact with environments and elements within the environment. You can put yourself in a guest's shoes to understand how they will see and navigate the environment • You have experience translating client brands through design across different media • You have mastery of illustration, sketching, and hand drawing to convey early concepts to others • You can assemble, mobilize, and lead a team of design resources required to execute your vision. • Directing and leading brainstorming process with design staff and other creative resources • Using Vectorworks or AutoCAD for spatial planning and technical drawing • You work with 3D artists to create spatial models of the environment or experience • You are a master of Adobe Photoshop, creating renderings that paint a picture of a complete concept for client presentations • Demonstrable knowledge of lighting design and how lighting functions in environmental design • experienced/comfortable with presenting concepts in front of client teams • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, and roll with the punches. • Ability to travel • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and collaborative, communicative work style • Strong attention to detail and quality
