Raytheon provides engineering, scientific and technical support contracting to NASA MSFC as a subcontractor to Jacobs Technology.
Raytheon currently has a position for a Senior Computational Fluid Dynamicist at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC).
The work will be application oriented using existing CFD tools for analysis, verification, and validation. Some CFD program model development will be required. Perform CFD analyses in support of liquid propellant cavitation problems related to propulsion components such as turbopumps and valves. Carry out numerical simulations with regard to propellant turbopump performance, two phase behavior due to cavitation, and loads due to operation under different operating conditions. Analyze complex features of the work and apply principles and practices of CFD analysis, or devise new approaches in problem solutions. Independently plan, schedule and perform computations/analyses, prepare and make presentations and document results in technical reports. Participate in review and status meetings, analyze all results from assigned tasks and determine if outputs are complete, correct, integrated with project objectives, adequately documented, and meet stipulated deadlines. Follow existing processes and procedures and recommend process improvements.
Required Education (including Major):
Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited institution. BS with at least 2 years of experience
Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required and ability to obtain NAC Clearance is required
