BackgroundThe Focused Marketing Initiative is Core-Mark’s industry-leading program for providing our convenience store customers with detailed analysis and marketing recommendations. The FMI department, located in Fort Worth, Texas, reviews historical purchase patterns, current product mix, and Nielsen demographic information about a store’s trade area. This information is then analyzed and used to create customized marketing plans. We are seeking an individual with extensive background in convenience store marketing/merchandising to take a leadership role in this process. Responsibilities will include:•Managing a team of approximately 14 data analysts and marketing specialists.•Overseeing project workflow. The creation of each marketing plan is a multi-step process involving several individuals, and it’s important that a central figure take responsibility for seeing it through. •Reviewing the team’s output. The data integrity and professional presentation of the plans must be kept to a very high standard.•Spearheading the growth of FMI. This program is not meant to be static; it’s a living thing, and the FMI Manager needs to be able to think creatively and apply his convenience store knowledge in order to continuously find ways to improve the efficiency of the processes and the usefulness of the resulting output. •Interfacing with internal customers. Core-Mark has 24 branches across the United States and Canada, and the FMI Manager is the primary contact point for all of their questions and requests concerning the project. •Tracking and reporting project execution and implementation.
•Master’s Degree•Experience in convenience store industry mandatory. •Computer SkillsoExpertise in Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.•Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.•Outstanding copywriting and proofreading skills.•Strong analytical skills, with the ability to draw conclusions using various resources.•Mid-level management background a plus.
