THE OPPORTUNITY The VP, QHR Consulting Operations position is responsible for business development, client engagement management, market presence, and team-building/leadership. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working with other QHR consulting service lines (Physician Services, Revenue Cycle, Clinical Operations, Strategy and Workforce Efficiency) and company business units to develop new business or support current business opportunities. Build, develop and maintain long-term relationships with new clients at the C suite level. Develop and offer services that reflect an understanding of a client’s unique business needs and offer client market specific solutions that are measurable. Previous consulting experience is required with a proven track record of sales ability. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Develops leads and works with current Business Development staff to sell new consulting engagements to internal and external clients.
- Works closely with members of senior management to devise budgets and support strategic and tactical plans to meet sales goals.
- Effectively establishes, communicates and guides the accomplishment of relevant objectives, measurable goals, and performance standards to ensure effective, efficient and economical client outcomes
- Works collaboratively with other disciplines to assure that standards for excellence in consulting are met, clients and employees are treated fairly and with respect, and that all client needs are met in a positive and responsive fashion.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Abilities may be accessed through written, verbal, and other evaluation methods.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to position consulting for the future, including but not limited to influencing staff to accept change, developing and communicating the purpose of consulting to the staff, and supporting and taking action to achieve the goals of the organization, promoting optimal client outcomes.
- Proven track record of business development and consulting sales accomplishments.
- Proven ability to identify the need for change, anticipating, recognizing and creatively resolving resistance to change. Work with others to view change as a positive challenge and opportunity for growth. Display an ability to be a risk taker and assume the role of change agent. Understand the importance of collegiality, collaboration and teamwork.
WORK EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS - Master Degree (MBA, MHA, or equivalent).
- Previous professional level experience with a healthcare consulting firm in a leadership capacity is highly preferred.
- Minimum of seven years in consulting experience selling services, supervising services provided, and hands on delivery of services.
- Proven track record with a minimum of $3M in consulting sales per year is highly preferred.
- Extensive travel required.
