Lead Software Development Engineer
Responsibilities: Our client is seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer for their Kirkland, Washington (WA) location.
The Software Development Engineering Lead has strong leadership skills, strong architectural and design skills and expert development background, with a broad experience base from which to draw. The successful candidate will have solved complex technical problems, and will develop and lead the development of creative, efficient solutions in both broad collaborative efforts and deep individual efforts.
The Senior Engineer is expected to lead small- or mid-sized projects, and is able to estimate schedules and work flow for these projects; and should recognize business needs and identify opportunities for optimization, reuse, cost reduction and overall system efficiency.
The SDLC and toolset is agile and highly collaborative with industry leading practices such wiki documentation, issue tracking system and distributed version control systems. This position is great for developers who want to work in a commercial SAAS product development environment and loves to learn.
Strong technical experience in any one of the following technology stacks is required:
- PHP, JavaScript, CSS, HTML on LAMP stack
- .NET C# Web and Windows Services and SQL Server
- Java Tomcat development with Maven (Windows or LAMP)
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience creating commercial software products
- Strong knowledge of software architecture, programming practices and patterns
- Proficient in SQL and understanding of relational database and schema creation
- Commitment to quality, customer service and teamwork
- Experience with UI/UX design a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- BS in Computer Science or Engineering or related field preferred
- Proven record of strong leadership experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead small cross functional teams to achieve goals - Design application features collaboratively with product managers, creative designers and technical leads - Create functional specifications and design documents as needed
- Must be a critical thinker and problem solver while considering technical and business needs, requirements and trade-offs
- Able to calmly and objectively deal with challenges
- Must be able a great team player and collaborator, taking project from specification to release
- Must be motivated and self-driven
- Strong technical skills
