Roles & Expectations
The role will focus on Credit Risk Management related business processes. This position will primarily support the Counterparty Credit Risk Management application, but could be involved in other projects throughout the timeline of this request. This position will be located in McLean or Vienna. Our customers are located mostly in McLean, with the core IT team in Richmond. Some travel (10%) may be required to support work activities. General BSA role Requirements: - 5+ years of BSA experience (Data and Systems analysis), served as “lead' BSA on multiple project lifecycles
- 3+ years experience with COTS implementations
- 3+ years experience in financial industry
- Deep knowledge of diverse technologies and new and current architectures
- Skills in object, data, and process modeling, business process design
- Excellent strategic application of experience; Demonstrated experience leading requirements, data and systems analysis.
- Defines solutions (requirements, designs, services, recommendations) to business/systems problems and owns the integrity of the solution through customer acceptance and final disposition of solution.
- Determines requirements gathering approach and performs requirements reviews. Responsible for the development, maintenance, management of complete requirements traceability and delivery of technical information or documentation to the appropriate audiences in the appropriate standard formats via print and online mediums.
- Analyzes project impacts and identifies gaps as well as upstream and downstream dependencies. Includes interface with management, users, and information technology professionals to create high-level conceptual solutions to business problems.
- Supports data gathering, validations, end to end data mapping, and data definition. Understands and incorporates standards into requirements. Documents requirements in the approved repository.
- Acceptance testing planning/execution and defect management experience required
Position specific Requirements: These are the items we will use to rate candidates as the right fit for the role. - Excellent oral and written communication is critical – must be able to bridge gaps between business customers and technical resources with an ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels (Executive Sponsors to team members); Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical individuals
- Industry Experience: Credit Risk Management, Banking industry experience
- Well-skilled as an interpreter to capture business processes and create detailed business, system, data and non functional requirements, use cases, test cases, and support formal change controls to manage scope.
- Leads requirements discussions with outside software vendors related to COTS requirements and non functional integration requirements to meet Standards.
- Experience with COTS packages and configuration: working with vendors, experience using configuration to implement business requirements and coordinating outside vendor interactions where data interfaces change or require testing.
- Builds and maintains tools and templates for process flows, swim lanes, NFSRs, and test cases.
- Responsible for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) definition, planning and execution, including creation of UAT test cases, leading UAT, defect management and signoffs.
- Good relationship building and interpersonal skills are a must as this position requires interfacing with a number of different internal customers, colleagues, and vendor performers.
- Understands business functionality to develop the requirements, takes ownership, and demonstrates the ability to work independently and multi-task.
- Evaluates and understands existing functional issues with application to design business solutions for customers.
- Leads and facilitates requirements and joint application design sessions with a diverse audience.
- Builds key relationships that support the capabilities of the organization and aids in acquisition of knowledge critical to internal customers.
- Interacts with senior leaders or external team members using presentations, phone conferences, and face to face meetings. Transitions to/ongoing support to project team after project definition phase.
- Supports project team by contributing positively to the team by presenting delivery options.
- Participates in design, test case reviews, defect triage and resolution.
- Ability to digest information accurately, ask good follow up questions and acquire the knowledge related to application functionality and architecture.
