Manager of Program Management

Job Description


Responsibilities: Our client is seeking a Manager of Program Management in Hillsboro, Oregon (OR).

Job Description:
Reporting to the Vice President of Program Operations, he/she will be accountable for the timely delivery, quality, budget control, and resource balancing for programs as agreed to by the Product Council.

Responsibilities:
  • Is accountable for program on time delivery, product quality, financial tracking and reporting, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tracking and reporting and change management

  • Is accountable for application of standard processes (e.g. Product Life Cycle (PLC) and responsible for program reporting towards all stakeholders, including appropriate escalation to the VP of Program Management

  • Acts as the prime internal interface for all delivery and current product related topics, towards company management

  • Provides -early warning- information - -moving the dials and turning the levers- to provide early visibility so trade-offs can be vetted



Detailed Responsibilities:
  • Will be accountable for auditing programs on a day to day basis, track program KPIs - on timely delivery, financials, customer requirements, accurate revenue post-release reporting

  • Leads and organizes core team activities (scope, planning, budget, deliverables) and shares with the Product Council

  • Tracks P&L and improves profitability by optimizing product costs, avoiding out of process costs

  • Directs core team on issues resolution and escalates when no resolution is available

  • Partners with Finance and other functional groups to provide the visibility to investment tracking and ROI

  • Ensures program communication (status, issues, decisions) to internal and external stakeholders - including monthly Program Review Dashboards leveraging the -early warning- information

  • Ensures PLC processes are applied throughout the program lifecycle and works to support Agile integration as the process evolves



Job Requirements

Requirements: Education - Experience:
  • Strong Command Skills, to lead and drive the decision making process across multiple areas of the business

  • Experience leading cross-functional and cross-cultural teams

  • Executive presentation skills with strong ability to synthesize complex situations

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interface with all levels of management

  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft applications - Word, PowerPoint, Excel as well as Microsoft Project; experience with Rally (an Agile tool) a plus

  • 5 years minimum work experience in project/program management, or related functions

  • Master's degree in Business Management or Engineering preferred

  • Minimum 3 years experience managing teams preferred

  • Formal Training in project management with 3 years of direct experience and/or Project Management Professional Certification (or equivalent) preferred.

  • Agile Development practices / Project Waterfall development method

  • Best practices and techniques to build and to improve the plan

  • Optimize cost and delay, meet deadlines

  • Advanced Risk Management and reduce impacts

  • Advanced Quality Management of project

  • Lead effective team and empower the team: valorization of team opportunities, organization of teams etc.

  • Motivate the project team, coach the team, build the team trust

  • Anticipation, pro-activity, continuous review

  • Change Management and conflict resolution

  • Project Reviews (core team review, management reviews)

  • Mastering the Integrated Program/ program management

  • Executing/Managing Multi-project/Complex project

  • Managing Global Initiatives: strategy and execution
